The all new Comp USA has a “deal” HD DVD Player Plus 7 free HD DVD Movies – $89.99. I put it in quotes because if you wait a month or two every retailer will be giving away the HD DVD players and movies for free. HD DVD has gone the way of the betmax. Save your money and buy an up scaling DVD player instead.

The Hi-def battle has come to an end today as Toshiba drops out. Toshiba has been handed a series of major blows for HD DVD from movie studies and retailers in the recent weeks. Warner Brother’s decision last month, to only carry Blu-ray was the death blow.

Sony must be feeling good today. They are trying to erase the loss to VHS in the 1980s.

So I am sure you will see a tone of deals on HD DVD players and HD movies, but is it really worth it?
